Your problem is a corrupted hard drive. Your only option really is to buy a new hard drive. If your gamer profiles are on Xbox Live, you will be able to recover them to your new Hard Drive.
Coruption is what it is can you fix it? Well if you a data recovery expert sure but if your not the no. corupted files happen when the unit is shut down without a proper shut down protocal or when a hard drive is at it end of life. You can recover the profile but un-corupt it is not even a word I had to make that one up so you can understand it would take many many hours to do. Thanks for your question and your understanding please do forward you positive ratings and feedback for this fast answer today!
I have never seen a fix for it without the Xbox Live.
1.Either backup your profile (GT) over at a friends house who has an xbox live connection. 2. You can always back up the Gamertag to your Pc... 3. Call Microsoft they always have a solution.
can you still access anything else that was saved on your hard drive? such as demos or anything else you downloaded, etc? generally that means your hard drive has over heated, or worse, crashed. but! you got lucky that your whole xbox didn't crash with it. there is a chance you can save your hard drive and all your files. there is a how to here: http://ezinearticles.com/?Xbox-360-E68-Error-Fix&id=2549596
Remove any disk from the DVD drive.
Remove the hard drive and turn on. When you get to the dashboard turn
it off again by holding the X button on the controller and select 'Turn
off console'.
Wait 10 seconds and then turn on again by pushing the X button on the
controller. When you get to the dashboard turn off again via the X
button.
Remove the AV / Video plug from the back of your Xbox.
Replace the hard drive correctly.
Switch on the Xbox via the power button on the console. 4 red lights should flash.
Wait 10 seconds and re-insert the AV / Video cable.
You should now load into the dashboard with your hard drive profiles - wait theres more!
Turn off and on via the X button as before another 2 times with all leads and the hard drive in place.
After you power it off the second time, remove the power lead for 20
minutes and then turn on again any way you feel like it and it should
be cured.
I Had the same problem wen i went to my m8s house all i did was take the hard drive out for a bit cleaned it off and the put it back in and worked fine for me
sorry bro.. but the only way for you to retrieve your gamer profile is to delete the profile and then log in online... your gamer profile will be retrieved, all achievements will be restored but save games and game data will be lost... you can try to contact microsoft for further troubleshooting...
thanks for using fixya... I would appreciate a fixya rating.. thanks alot...
IF your profile is not an xbox live account, your xbox profile cannot be recovered, however, if your account is an xbox live account all you need to do is have no one signed in, press the center xbox button, go down to recover account and enter your information
I have heared that if you just delete the profile, just the profile, everything will be just fine (note: This only works if your profile is on xbox live). Just go to memor, then go into the saving device the corrupted profile is on. Then "click" on the botton that says profile and delete the corrupted profile. Remember; the profile will be a small save and not taking up most of your harddrive, look for something with MB size, not GB size. When you have done this, go to "recover gamertag" and do so for the profile you just deleted. After all this, your game saves and achivements should be present and working.
