The answer to unlocking the screen to reset password may be you have to connect it to a computer and reset the whole tablet. It will erase every thing and set it back to factory, but that might be the only solution. You can try rebooting it yourself by shutting the tablet down with the reset buttons, "power on and off button," and the volume button at the same time.

The battery drains while the item is off, on laptops, tablets, and flashlights. ANYTHING with a battery will do this.
Your device is low on power. Charge it for a day and it should be workable.
The longer you let it go without a charge, the worse your battery will be. (You cannot overcharge it.) Some have to get a new device because they let it go a few weeks without a charge.
You should charge it every week.
If it just stopped charging and you have tried other chrgers, then the probable cause would be the battery for the tablet has failed. This is fairly common and would require disassembly of the tablet and replacement of the battery to fix.
Some Acer tablets have the following issue. You may need to contact Acer directly to resolve: Issue:
AC adapter part numbers AP.0180P.002 and AP.0180P.003 built before week 33 may not charge the tablet. This occurs if the spring becomes deformed and no longer makes contact. Not all adapters built in this timeframe exhibit the issue. The issue may be caused if excessive force was applied to the adapter to deform the spring. You may reference the week number (digits 12 and 13) on the adapter SN to verify if it was built before or after week 33.
SOLUTION:
If the adapter is not charging the tablet, replace the adapter like for like. The vendor designed an improved spring solution. This solution was phased in production week 33 for both AP.0180P.002 and AP.0180P.003. The part numbers have not changed.
