unplug unit raise lid by putting putty knife under right and left front edges about an 1 1/2 in on each side. push the knife in to realease the spring clip on each side, look at the heating element in the center back on the right had side of the element case is a small thermal limit that has two white wires coming off of it. to get it out take out the 1/4 in srew that holds the element down, also take off the safety limit switch about the element with the two red wires on it. lift out element slowly you will have to work it out so as not to damage then look inside and see how the limit switch is attached pull out and ohm out or take to service center and buy it should be an LA1053 kit put all back together then try again. you may be able to get it out without removing element also but removal of the element makes it easier. Also take the screw out of the left side and right side that holds the front on about 2 inches down on the inside of panel on each side. look for lint in blower housing on door clean well and clean area where lint screen is housed. i then you should also check your dryer vent it may be plugged up since it blew a thernal limit safety.
