Try fanning the paper. In conditions of low humidity, the paper will tend to stick together. Also make sure the feed roller is clean. Use a cloth with some alcohol on it and clean the surface of the feed roller.

Having encountered this issue, I read the manual. The only way I found it to work was to press scan and then choose the application that you want to use. I normally just choose scan to Paint. Then launch Paint on your pc, Go to File and select From Scanner and Camera and your image will appear in Paint. (not the easiest scan method in the world but it works; I have tried selecting the other applications on the scanner menu but haven't had any success.

check the rollers to make sure no paper or particles are stuck preventing from accepting paper. take all the paper out, put half as much back in.
go to applications folder for your computer, dbl click printer icon for make of printer. check settings. print 'test document and clean cartridge heads', this should ensure proper printing formats.
lastly, go to web site of printer model and check site for trouble shooting if this does not work above.

Laser Scanner Unit or LSU is what writes to the surface of the drum. The glass above the cartridge in the machine may be dirty. The mirror motor in the LSU could be bad or needs to be cleaned to spin better. The Laser diode may be faulty.
This is not a user-serviceable issue. You will need to contact Samsung for a service. You can do it online via Samsung website or contact the vendor to see who will they appoint to service the printer to, especially if it is still under warranty.
