Nice table, but i need to know more info: distortion with only the record playing or also a sound with the unit only on, which cables do you use and did you have cleaned the rca cable and the sme connector(those 4 pins where you screw your om or concorde in) with cotton on a stick and the right cleaning stuff and push them a couples of times , to see if they come back easily, other wise a drip of lubricator for elektronics on them . greetings richard

Could be a couple of things. Could be the alignment, weighting, tracking or all of those causing this. It could be the gain structure on your mixer is not set and is too high. Maybe that the output of the cartridge is to high for standard mm inputs

Humming on pfl

50hz hum. Turn off most of your home equipment , turn only your table on, if it still hums it\'s your transformer and that\'s too bad for your wallet. And you also don\'t have those led lights which

is a fashion statement at the moment on your table, they are not quite good for causing distortion. And in your home are saving-lights. especially with dimmers and lcd plasma tv\'s a major cause of distortion. But a steady , low freq hum is your transformer and i have a stethoscope, not for that purpose:). Then you don\'t have to search. But they ain\'t cheap, the upgraded in 2009 ones.

WHY DOES MY TECHNIC 1200 MK3 GO IN REVERSE IF I HIT THE START BUTTON TWICE?

There is a mod you can do to the 1200 to make it spin in reverse with a double-tap on the start / stop switch - exactly as you're describing. Likely, the previous owner installed said mod. It's awesome, embrace it.

My technic sl 1200 is distorting. It is not the stylus or cartridge as i have swapped them and it still distorts. Any ideas?

Distorted sound on Technics SL-1200/1210

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

Had to replace stylus on SL-B2. Arm was "skating" across disc but seem to have that fixed. Sound definitely not correct. What can I adjust?

Hi sounds like the cartridge or stylus are not seated correctly or at correct angle (cartridge).
Also weight/balance and anti skate need adjustment. Try getting the manual and using that to set it up correctly - no easy task though as lotsa info there.... :) Manual for 1200 MK3 will do as well. Hope that helps

Technics turntable distortion emisson

More than likely your RCA cables are going bad, and will need to be replaced. Not the hardest self-repair, but you will need to have some soldering skills. In addition, caution should be taken when taking apart your turntable.

Check out the following videos for self-repair assistance on these wonderful DJ turntables.

If you think it's too much for you to do yourself, get some professional assistance. Shouldn't cost too much for repair.

Hope this helps some.
