Name pattern crosses over onto each other

When embroidering a name on material the letters cross over each other, usually just 1 - 2 letters at end of name. This just started doing this. The machine is approximately 9 years old. For example, when embroidering the name Addisynn, the pattern was fine until the nn, the second n crossed over into the first n

Hello, I have a Baby Lock Ellure and I haven't used the embroidery unit for a while and I am trying to now and it is completely messed up. I am trying to embroider a name with the thicker letters and the...

There are many reasons for this to happen but the main ones are that:
1. you have not threaded the machine properly or
2. the tension of your machine is wrong
If the problem is 2 then I recommend you to go to your local sewing machine mechanic.

I am trying to embroider something for the first time on my viking #1 husqvarna. Do I need presser foot Q/ or R/ .If it's R,I can't find it-what does it look like? I need someone to walk me thru the steps...

embroider on #1+:
If it's a #1+ I recommend the Q (the spring works better) it's hard to put on, but worth it.
Here we go:
1>Turn off machine (always when installing or removing embroidery unit)
2>Install Q Foot. Always leave presser foot pressure (on left end of machine) at 6 for presser foot Q
3>Insert Embroidery Card
4>Insert Embroidery cassette (matching #’s with card)
5>turn on machine
6>Turn on embroidery unit (on cassette)
7>Select design
7>Thread for color 1
8>press reverse to start the machine embroidering....weeeeeeeee!

Help with patches

Print out your embroidery design and cut this out around the perimeter of the hoop grid. Pin to your material where you want the design to be. Hoop stabilizer only. Place your fabric/paper design sandwich on top of the stabilizer, being sure to get the cross hairs lined up with the notches on the hoop. Pin fabric as close as you can get to the edge of the hoop, or use spray temporary adhesive, or double-sided tape around the outside of the stabilizer also works great. Load design onto machine and put on the hoop - paper still attached. Turn handwheel so that the needle enters the paper at exactly the centre - adjust hoop position if necessary. Remove paper template, use Fix to baste fabric to stabilizer, and sew the design. I actually prefer to cut the paper template fairly close to the design and use chalk cross hairs on my fabric to line it all up. The good thing about doing it this way is that you don't have to re-hoop if it is off-centre - just pull the fabric off the stabilizer (that's why temp. adhesive is easier than lots of pins) while the needle is down in the centre, and manouevre it to where you want it before basting down.
