possible the firmwar is damage or sum ics have burn because of a power spike, or brownage while it was on charge, take it to a repair shop to be checked

you can just buy an lcd screen off ebay, replacing the lcd screen yourself isnt hard with the tools provided. you just have to take the ribbon cable from the old lcd screen and insert the new lcd screen and plug in the ribbon cable for it.
the reason for original Nokia n95 8Gb lcd screens being so expensive to repair/replace is that it is also the same lcd screen used for the Nokia N96.
I have to tell you that swapping LCD screens are pretty hard especially for phones that you have to open up like this one.
Just take the screen to some Cellphone store they might be able to do it.
