Connection to tv

Connecting your old RDR-HXD890 player/recorder to your Sky Q box and TV can be done by using the appropriate cables and connections. Here is an example of how you can connect the devices:

1. Connect the HDMI output of the Sky Q box to the HDMI input of the RDR-HXD890 using an HDMI cable. This will send the video and audio signals from the Sky Q box to the RDR-HXD890.
2. Connect the HDMI output of the RDR-HXD890 to the HDMI input of the TV using an HDMI cable. This will send the video and audio signals from the RDR-HXD890 to the TV.
3. Connect the aerial cable to the aerial input of the RDR-HXD890
4. Connect the RDR-HXD890 to the power outlet
5. Turn on all the devices and set the TV to the HDMI input where the RDR-HXD890 is connected.

By connecting your devices in this manner, you will be able to watch and record TV shows and movies from your Sky Q box through the RDR-HXD890 and display them on your TV.

Perform a channel scan on the new TV.

To connect TV to Sky Box VCR, connect the SCART lead from the AV1 socket on the TV to the TV SCART socket on the Sky Box. Connect another SCART lead from the AV2 socket on the TV to the AV1 socket on the DVD player and an RF cable from VCR to the aerial in socket on the TV.

This isn't possible, the USB on the front of the Sky HD box is not active. I don't have any information on whether it will be in the future.

Your only option is to connect the iPod via TV or if you have a surround sound amp

You need an aerial connection between the two units,the aerial will plug into the eye and then the eye into the tv.The cable connects into your sky box in the one marked output 2.You then need to go into service`s on the sky box,select 4,then press 0 1 select,goto rf output and turn on.

If you have two scart sockets on your tv,then connect a scart from av1 on the dvd into the tv,then connect a scart from the sky box into av2 on the dvd,your recording channel on the dvd will be av2.
If you only have on socket on the tv,then connect a scart from av1 on the dvd into the sky box,your recording channel will be av1,connected like this you may have to turn off the sky to watch dvd`s.

do have sound and picture at same time you will need a fibre optical cable, you connect that from your cinema system to your tv. then you need to set your cinema system to digital input or fibre optic or check by pressing aux on your remote and see which is the right one. i am not familier with panasonic as i have samasung.

with your tv swiched on, Turn your sky box off then keep your finger on the backup button whilst turning your box back on, make sure you keep your finger on backup button until all the lights come on on the front of your sky box, or a message comes on screen (tv) saying "UPDATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE, DO NOT DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS, THIS WILL TAKE APPROX 10 MINS"

i cant see any problem with the connections. have you tried to connect the dvdr along with sky to another tv set? and did the same problem occured? if not, try connecting it the same way with another tv. and see if thesame problem would occur. if the same problem appears check if the connections from sky to dvdr scart if it is loose or not. try to clean the solid wire of the cable. if proble still persists dvdr is faulty. if not, defenitely there is a problem with the tv. and i suggest for you to have it checked.
