I had an old organ/keyboard repair man tell me 95% of his repairs were diodes over 10 years old. Everything else was switches, capacitors & transformers. Hope that helps.

I have a Yamaha P-105. It is just over a year old and we have never attempted to transpose anything. Tonight I tried and it won't work. I hold down the DEMO/SONG and METRONOME/RHYTHM button

i would discuss it with the dealer you bought it from. He'll have you go though the commands again just to be sure. At that point he'll ask that it be brrought in for service or will refer you to a service center. If it is over a year old it will be out of warranty, but if you approch him polietly he may try to bend the time period for you.

Low keys stopped working rd600

Been years since I had an RD600 but I do remember it happened to me once or twice.

It was either the SPLIT function...with one of the volume sliders down, or MIDI channel. Sorry not much of a solution...hopefully this will jog your memory into experimenting with some of the RD's functions: split/transpose/MIDI etc

I have a Roland E-70 Intelligent Synthesizer, buit the manual does not give instructions on how do transposition. I need to transpose the instrument to play a music in a lower key. For example, when I...

section 7 page 89 of the E-70 manual I downloaded from http://www.rolandus.com/support/owners_manuals/?group=2
describes the use of the transpose button.

In short, you set the value for the transpose function in the parameter menu (section 9 in the manual) ranging from -11 to +11 semitones.

In your case I would set the value for the tranpose button in the menu to minus 2 as you want a full note (= 2 semitones) down from C to B-flat and G to F etc.

And you activate or deactivate the transpose function itself by hitting the transpose button. The little red led next to the button shows whether the function is on (led is lit) or off (led is not lit).

Hope this helps

The use of the Transposer control. I am very much a beginner in music in spite of my advanced years, and I have been puzzling over how to use this control. Would I be correct that all I need do is to...

A SIMPLE way of looking at the transposer is that it shifts EVERY key on the keyboard left (+) or right (-) by the number of the transpose. ALL keys, black and white are counted. As far as counting sharps and flats I would NOT depend on that. The transpose would for instance allow you to play a song you knew in "C" and have the sounds moved to a different key. For instance, a transpose of +2 would move EVERY C to "sounding" D, C# to D#, D# to F, E to F#, F to G, F# to G#, G to A, G# to A#, A to B, A# to C, and finally B would sound C# pitch. Given a key like G for a song that has one sharp (F#) to play this by keying it in the key of "C" you would use a transpose of +6 or minus 6. The number of key positions (including black) between the key you want to play in and the key the song is in. For a song in D that is played in C you would use either a +2 transpose or a -10 depending on whether you wanted the higher or lower octave to sound. Looking at it this way I do NOT believe the method you proposed would work... Look at it the way I described and you won't go wrong.

HI, I have a Roland Juno GI, (5 months old), have not programmed anything into it or changed any settings. However, when I started it today it was flat by 50 cents. I was sure of this by checking a D or G...

It sounds like it is transposed. Look for the transpose function in your user manual. It shifts the keys by half notes either up or down. I would be surprised that factory reset would not clear the transpose setting. First, realize that these keyboards are controlled by a crystal oscillator and they just don't drift enough to shift even one cent worth.

IF the unit is NOT transposed, then the other problem is LIKELY with the pitch bend wheel. Try the action of the wheel and make sure it responds by moving up and down about 50 cents. If it doesn't go both ways, it is possible the mechanism has slipped or been damaged.

Casio Chord is internal to the keyboard and doesn't come out on MIDI. Transpose is similar and while the button may send a MIDI transpose type signal out, the notes will not transpose in your computer...
