I had Webroot Spysweeper installed on my Sony Vaio. I received a message from it saying that it had detected and quarantined a trojan virus and that I needed to restart my computer. When I did, the Vaio screen came up for a second, then I got a "Spysweeper early remover, Missing: device\harddisk volume 1\windows\" error message and then a "lsass.exe - bad image" message. When I cliked out of that, the screen went black and all I got was cursor. No Windows startup screen at all. I called webroot tech help (who, by the way, doesn't even have weekend hours), who denied it had anything to do with their product (untrue - as I have seen others on this website alone who have complained about probs). Took it to two places, no one has been able to fix. Any ideas?
Fck this happens on vista too, i installed webroot parental control and spy sweeper and after i restarted, i lost all acess and i can never log on to the admin account
webroot sucks *** not worth a penny, even a Japanese penny if they have any... but anyways, unless they are paying your like 600 dollars, dont install it or buy it, it sucks
Webroot hasnt an intelligent being in the company. Whoever monitors their social sites (twitter & facebook) is only bright enough to say "call us"
Dont waste time complaining either as the people who say they are supervisors have no intention of doing anything
Spy Sweeper takes too much time to Load. How to reduce or eliminate this feature?
Umm webroot rocks
The funny thing is if you tried to call in now for that free us based tech support they would try and sell it to you for $50! Talk about low morals! It boarders on fraud!
You've most likely have this fixed by now, but the only solution is to reload the OS. This issue was due to an error on Sony's end, they had been sending out Vaios with a very out dated video driver. Spy Sweeper saw that has a malware program and auto quarantined
it. The issue was fixed when Sony sent out Vaios with the updated driver.
So the person was right, the issue wasn't with Spy Sweeper. And he/she could not support you.
As for Webroot Tech Support:
You get FREE support, from people that know what they are talking about, here in the USA and speak ENGLISH
OR
Pay $65 to talk to some guy in India, that will take you forever to understand, and all he real does is tell you to call back.

No Windows access at all. Took to Central Computers in SF and (hate to admit) Geek Squad.

i had webroot installed in my computer for about 3 month now, last night, i went to check to see if i had any viruses and i get a message that webroot is uncompatable with windows vista. i called the number that i was given for webroot, but can't get through. i tried uninstalling and re-installing,but still uncompatable. what can i do? i am a self taught person on the computer so language has to be for fools. the webroot spyware is a 5.5 also i tried to send an email to webroot.but had my email changed since first installment, and i get a message that they can't help me
I have Windows XP home and I can't update anything. When I've contacted Microsoft they go ahead with a nothing solution...that is, nothing that has to do with my question and problem. I eventually give up.
As for Webroot spy sweeper, until lately it's worked fine, but now I can't update it: Windows claims it can't reach Webroot. I have no solution, only a complaint.
