Car wont start

Just because you hear the fuel pump run does not mean you have correct pressure at the injectors. Use test gauge to make sure. Have you run compression test to make sure timing belt has not broken?

How long since a tune-up?
Are there any applicable trouble codes?
Are you saying it cranks good but won't start or the starter motor won't even crank? If the problem is the latter, have to make sure battery has a full charge, battery connections all good. Then check voltage and ground circuits for the starter motor. Any testing at the starter, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set. Safety is your responsibility.

Of course if it cranks good but won't start, that is another issue. Usually with gasoline engine, check spark--proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Also, you may need to check cylinder compression.
What is year--make--model?

Need more info so we can look up wiring diagram? Dodge is the make, what is year and model? Sometimes when battery voltage is lost, it can cause problems?
If starter motor won't crank the engine, check starter motor wiring circuits. Any testing at starter motor make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. I haven't checked your security system info.
If you think the problem is the starter motor, usually you can take it off, lay it on the ground, hook up jumper cables properly from starter motor to good battery, at the least, it should kick out starter drive gear and spin.

Since the engine cranks, the battery, starter motor/starter motor solenoid are most likely
good, so suspect everything else on the list. When you narrow it down, re-post with a
more specific question about that particular component, since 100s of components must operate
nearly perfectly for a vehicle to actually start.

8 Inspect Starter -- Starter Motor Faulty.
9 Inspect Fuel Pump -- Low Fuel Pressure.
10 Inspect Solenoid Switch -- Faulty Starter Solenoid Switch.
11 Inspect Fuel Pump Relay -- Faulty Fuel Pump Relay.
12 Inspect Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator -- Faulty Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator.
13 Inspect Ignition Switch -- Improperly Connected or Faulty Ignition Switch.
14 Inspect Starter Drive -- Faulty Starter Drive.
15 Inspect Fuel Injectors -- Dirty or Worn Fuel Injectors.
16 Inspect Fuel Pump Strainer (inside fuel tank) -- Clogged or Dirty Fuel Pump Strainer.
17 Inspect Engine Control Computer -- Incorrect Operating Information Being Delivered and Sent From The EEC (faulty computer)
18 Inspect Fuel Tank -- Fuel Tank Empty.
19 Inspect Carburetor -- Carburetor Flooded or Faulty Choke.
20 Inspect Distributor Cap -- Worn, Loose, Cracked, or Incorrectly Installed Distributor Cap.
21 Inspect Distributor Rotor -- Worn, Loose, Burnt contact surface
22 Test/Inspect Neutral Safety Switch -- Faulty Neutral Safety Switch

Make sure you have a spark at the plugs. Also if you can , check fuel pressure and fuel out of injectors....a little more work.

14 Inspect Starter Drive --- Faulty Starter Drive.
15 Inspect Fuel Injector --- Dirty or Worn Fuel Injectors.
16 Inspect Fuel Pump Strainer ---- Clogged or Dirty Fuel Pump Strainerat.

Well check the fuel filter and your injectors or Spark Plugs you might want to change them for sure .

if it fires then dies, you have to reset the alarm system with the key/remotes???otherwise you need to plug in the diagnostic computer(saves hours of "fun")

Fords have inertia fuel cut off switch. You need to check that first. If you dont have fuel. If you have fuel and no spark you need to check for inj pulse to injector. Make sure no fuses are blown. If no spark and no injector pulse then replace cranksensor.
