I was having problems with my printer. it is an hp color laserjet 3500. when i print anything from tray 2 it gives me an error after it prints, it reads 41.3 unexpected size in tray 2. i checked the tray and set it to letter. i also tried a brand new tray and still receive same error. if any body can help out thanks. Have same type error. LJ 3500 with 41.3 error. Gives error from either manual feed tray or casette tray. Settings are correct (Plain, Letter) . Replaced complete FEED ASSEMBLY - no fix. Replaced DC Controller - No fix. Can anyone be of assistance? Ray
Hi ray, it's chris. i called your cell phone, but figured you might see this. replace the registration clutch. after some research, this seems to be the solution given that should solve the issue in that printer, and it's an independant part from the paper pickup assembly...

Paper is loaded that is longer or
shorter in the feed direction than the
size configured for the tray.
1. Load the paper as instructed.
2. Press to print.
3. If the incorrect size was selected,
press STOP to cancel the job or press ?
for help.
4. If the incorrect tray was selected, press
STOP to cancel the job.
5. Configure the trays correctly and
resend the job.
Ensure all trays are configured correctly.

What about the tray card? Could that be flaking out? Geez...maybe a paper path sensor not returning to the right position in time. Man I feel for you! I hate problems like that!!!
