I have a HP pavillion dv6500, the sound has been working, but every now and then just cuts out. All the devices seem fine, they all say working properly, but if i restart the laptop, it will just say no audio devices installed. Any ideas?
Maybe uninstalling the audio device in the device manager should fix it so:
-uninstall the audio device from device manager (control panel)
-restart computer
-once back on, it should automatically install your audio device off of the internet.
-update the selected audio device in device manager
other than this method, i'am completely lost.
Do you have windows XP or Vista?
Do you have sigmatell audio card?
When this happens go to start->run type in services.msc and press run.
Find Windows audio service. Right click and select properties. SElect start type "automatic" and click on start.
Audio should work.
