Hello- The function is automatic when clean button is pushed. Oven will lock, and turn on at full power for about 90 mins. This 'feature' can, and usually does eventually burn out circuits in the control board. Techs call this the 'self-destruct' option, cheerfully promoted by the salesman. Avoid using 'self clean'! Scrape and clean with light soap/water. Turn on to 450deg. for about 30 min. This is about half the temp. of a 900deg. 'clean' cycle and a lot less expensive in the long run. I see you would like to set your Frigidaire range to self-clean but I did research that model number and could not locate any information on it. Can you please verify the model number? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the storage drawer on the right hand side. With this information I can better assist you. -Matt
