Possibly an internal failure of the reverse switch. The blown fuse is for both the reverse and the turn signal lights. The fix is replacement of the reverse switch.
Try putting your foot on the brake then putting car in park some cares have this safety on then .the key may not turn as well without foot on brake car in park.
First what system do you have? The D3 or the 4300. You might check to see if you turned on the rearview camera. If so this could be your problem. The rearview camera comes on when you put the vehicle in reverse, turning off anything else until the vehicle is put back into another gear.
It is electrical, could be initiated by mechanical (shift lever mechanics are pinching a wire in reverse) or a shorted wire or solenoid in the reverse light system or transmission solenoid circuit. Need a detailed wiring diagram to determine path of circuit for that fuse. That is where you need to start. Try your local library or dealer for a service manual. Look Online also.
sounds like the cable from the gear stick to the gearbox selector switch has been put on wrong ,put the car into reverse so that the reverse light is on , turn the ignition off and find the gear selector on the gearbox , pop the end of the cable off it then put the gearstick into the "R" position and refit the end of the cable back onto the selector switch , hope this helps
you got brown for running parking light green for right turn/stop yellow for left turn/stop white for ground reverse lights are only wired on a 6 or 7 plug connector make sure you on the dark green for right turn stop not the light green the light green is for reverse
Try reading the codes. Easy to look that up online. Just turn the key from off to the "on" (don't turn over engine) three times and the check engine light will flash. I had this problem and the car (same year) would stall out in reverse. There was a problem with my EGR system (something unplugged) once that was fixed my car ran great!
