On my Sansui sw-100 sub, I have 2 speakers connected to the high level output, that dont operate

I am using my sansui SW-100 as a sub only, with a single input wire from my 5.1 amp. On the back of the sw-100 is a Hi level input & output. I have 2 spare speakers how can I get them to work? Does it require something on the input side, to have the speakers operate on the output side at the moment they dont.

Yes in order to have audio going to your spare speakers from the sub .You would need to use the hi level inputs comming from the reciever outputs connected to these hi level inputs..The sub will then crossover the audio to their proper outputs..Hope this helps you

SOURCE: dayton sub-100 connection

You have it upon one of several truly odd "standards" in the AV industry but the answer is simple if not quite logical. You will use an RCA type cable from the Sub out or LFE on the receiver to just one of the two inputs on the subwoofer. I usually use the one on the right but it really doesn't matter. The other connectors would be for a system with out a sub out where the speaker wire would be run first to the subwoofer and then out to the speakers. This will not be used at all in your case.

SOURCE: How do i use the high level speaker inputs on this snell QBx sub.

Most likely, you simply connect the speaker wires to the high level inputs, along with the cable from your amp.

Given that Snell's are high-end speakers, I would recommend that you contact their tech support for your question. They have a specific email address for technical questions on their Support Page.

I'm assuming your amp for testing was NOT a subwoofer output. I could be wrong.

Your source is responsible for creating LFE output. Are you sure it's doing that?

Tune an FM station and connect any other active RCA output from the source (like a Tape Out) to the sub

SW-910, blown speaker or ? makes rattle/buzz sound. replace speaker and/or change to passive type sw?

i would suggest replacing it rather than fixing. The cost of the repair will be about the same.
if you went to a passive sub/seperate power amp setup you could get a much higher quality unit, but it would cost you considerably more cash.

Kenwood sw-35ht Replace with a kicker sub

I suppose you could, but you are talking about a driver (speaker) that was not designed for that cabinet size and amplifier used in the Kenwood, There are differences in speaker design besides power rating and impedance.

How do I adjust my subwoofer bass level for my kenwood kdc-138 car tereo

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Support/Car_Entertainment_Owners_Manuals/ You can download the manual from Kenwoods site. While the unit is in Standby mode, press the B.Boost button for a second or two. You should now be in the Menu. Select SWPRE. Now chose SW from the (R*/SW) options. The output of your CD player is now a dedicated sub woofer output. I hope this is what you meant. There are many settings regarding the sub woofer and generally the sound in whole. Getting the manual is highly advisable. dreamsystems.

I have a KLH SW-90 amp. When I plug in the RCA plugs I don't get any sound to the Satelight speakers. Is this a sub amp? Do I need to hook up the high input wires to make the satelight speakers work?

I have the same amp. there a two ways to use it: The phono plug inputs are low level, are for use as an amplifier only, and their only output is the subwoofer output. In this case, any stereo satellite speakers would be driven directly from your stereo amp.
The high level inputs are meant to be driven as the same as speakers from your stereo amp. A circuit inside samples the bass and directs it to the sub amp and output. this same circut passes unamplified outputs to the satellite outputs. PM me at [email protected] if you need further info.

Speaker wire for subwoofer

Usually, a subwoofer will have its own built-in power amplifier. Thus, it will be designed to plug into a standard RCA jack (the type used for DVD players, etc). rather than having wires to connect to a speaker terminal block. Look for a jack on the back of the receiver called "Subwoofer", or simply "SW". If your subwoofer has 2 single wires, it WON'T work with your reveiver's subwoofer output, as this output only carries a line-level signal and is not amplified. You would need a separate power amplifier for this type of SW. If your SW speaker has a DVD-type plug, it should work fine with the receiver's SW output jack.
