Behringer Eurodesk SX2442FX Interface communication issues

My interface is a line 6 pod studio kb37. http://line6.com/podstudiokb37/specifications.html I use acid pro 7, I have installed all my interface software and it is operating optimally. To record, I plug in two XLR cables (left/right) into my interface through its line-in ports. My Interface has two ports called analog-outs (left/right), when I plug them under any channel, one with a microphone or other instrument in it or not, I can get audio playing out of my monkey banana monitors (which are plugged in via XLR's in the main-out left/right slots. If I press the main button in the channel it plays loud and clear, if I press the solo button in the channel I get nothing. If I have headphones plugged into the channel where my analog-out is plugged in (in the line-in slot), I can hear what is playing on the PC, provided I press the solo button. I can control the channel with out incident. If I plug those analog-out cables into the main-insert slots at the top of the right hand side of the desk, I get nothing coming out of my monitors. If I plug them in half way, I get fain sound. If I hold the eq button in (just below, far right) just enough so the red lights don't come one and the eq starts working, the sound from my monitors is loud and clear. The same happens if I press the main/aux1 button (directly above the eq button) in about halfway as well. If I hold the line-in jack in place, about three quarters in, I get loud and clear sound from my monitors. If i put the jacks full way in and leave the board, I get nothing. All this equipment is brand new. What I want to do is have my interface as a bridge or halfway point between my PC and my mixer which will hold all microphones, headphones, my monitors etc. In addition to solving this problem, perhaps you could suggest a type of setup that would make it easiest to achieve this goal and not sacrifice quality? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

With all your plugging in of unsuitable stuff into sockets not designed for them there is a very good chance you'll have blown parts of the mixer. It is apparent you have little idea of what an insert is or the difference between a line and a mic in (or between an in and an out for that matter) I would strongly suggest you stop playing and probably causing damage, read the manual from cover to cover, and if you don't understand it find someone who will help you. I'm sorry but you really are not helping yourself at the moment.

SOURCE: How do i hook up my new behringer pmp 5000 mixer

Passive loudspeakers are connected to the two "Speakon" connectors on the back of the unit. BUY GOOD cables for your speakers!!!! Whatever you do don't have a speaker line come loose while driving audio out !!! You will arc- out the rear-most power amp... I know, I repaired two of these now with the problem.

Connect the recording device to either the "tape OUT" RCA jacks or either of the pairs of MAIN out TRS jacks.

Set the slide switch for the MAIN L/MAIN R (upper position) leave this in this position unless you understand what the other positions are for to avoid damage. You will NOT need the other positions.

Further: Power ALL interconnect devices from the SAME receptacle source to avoid ground loops and possible damage.

YOUR passive speakers should be rated at least 300 Watts RMS continuos power handling or 600 Watts peaks.

Drive consumer stereo speakers with this and you will smoke the speakers and MAYBE blow the amp. This is a powerful amplifier and if you don't have at least 15 inch speakers you MUST really hold down the volume lest you blow the speakers.

Above all read the manual... yes, it is a bit hard to understand...

If you have a problem you can contact me by email for a bit of help. I have wo of these I have been using at venues now.

SOURCE: I got a behringer 1832fx mixer and I'm trying to

Hello,
You can retictfy this , all you need is to study the mixer carefully.
There is a button for the head phone below the effect display, you need to activate it by pressing the button this will make the head phone to work.
Also there is volume for the head phone, it is written PHONES, you need to turn the knob to increase the volume output from the mixer....

Thanks for asking a question from fixya and take care....

Behringer Eurodesk-sx2442fx suddenly going into pink noise on main and aux outputs? Muting all channels did nothing. Fixed when powered down and back up. Scared to use it live now.

Behringer products are notorious for odd problems over time and are not well supported by the company. You can attempt to take it to the shop for repair, but honestly i'd just replace it than spend cash on a repair only to wait on the next issue to crop up.

Behringer Eurodesk SX2442FX Interface communication issues

It seems you are getting confused by In and Insert. An insert is a plug where you can create a break in the audio chain and 'insert' something, normally an effect. This is why when you plug something into the insert socket you break the chain and lose the output. It is expecting the signal sent on the top to be returned on the ring when you plug it in and when nothing is plugged in the tip and ring on the socket are shorted. I am not quite sure what you are trying to do despite your detailed description but all you describe seems to be about right if you have got mixed up about inserts.

Hopefully if you are trying to insert something in the audio chain as I think you are and once you properly understand an unbalanced insert such as your unit has you'll be able to figure it out.

Do please stop plugging stuff in and half in that is not designed to be plugged in, or if you're unsure still don't plug it in, from what I can see you're really tempting fate and quite likely to break your unit with what you're doing at the moment.

I have a Behringer sx2442fx mixer, and when i try to use my aux 1 and 2 channels for monitors it doesn't seem to be working. I sthere a chance that i have a button or something on the board thtas p

Make sure that you have enable the main monitor volume at the end of the mixer. They are labeled AUX1 and AUX2 as well located under the last channel of the mixer. If those are on 0 your monitors won't work

My band plugs into the input channels on the SX2442FX mixer, which we then hook up to the PMP2000 to use as a PA. Since the SX2442FX is not a "Powered" Mixer, I figured that we should be going...

Either way will work, however your friend's method probably would be slightly better since it goes through less stages within the PMP2000. The "left and right power amp inputs" are the INPUTS to the power amp in the PMP2000 and hence are the best places to connect the mixer if using the PMP2000 as only a power amp. Note doing this will LIKELY disconnect any other input to the PMP2000 from the power amps in it... that is all the preamps in the PMP2000. DO USE TRS cables!!! and power both units from the same receptacle to avoid ground bounce.

How do you connect behringer sx2442fx eurodesk sttudio mixer on acomputer in studio

WIthout a quality audio interface the answer is you don't... You need to procure an audio interface for the computer. The internal audio systems of computers are too noisy to get decent results. The manual for the mixer will show the typical studio connection with a suggested audio interface.

The cd/tape (standby) button stuck on Behringer SX2442FX Eurodesk Mixer. The button is stuck in the down position, placing all inputs other than the RCA jacks for the CD/TAPE inputs into STANDBY mode......

First thing is to get a can of CRC226 from Home depot in the electrical dept. Put a little on a q Tip and work it into the area between the button and the panel. work the button a little bit sideways. Using the point of a scalpel or Xacto knife from one side, gently pry up by sticking the point into the side of the button and levering it up. Once it is up, apply more CRC226 around to lube the button. Be gentle... often contamination gets between the button and the hole in the panel.
