Download video from camcorder to computer.

I want to make (burn) a CD of the video footage on my Camcorder. What do I need to download the footage to my Computer running Windows XP. All that I have, is the A/V cable that came with the camcorder. Is there a connector cable with a USB termination at the opposite end and will it be of any use?

Regards

I want to download my video footage. I only have the a/v cable which came with the camcorder. Which cables do I need and where do I need to connect them to burn to my computer running XP windows ? Do I save it in a file then save to a cd ? Or is there other or different steps which need to be taken for me to burn my video footage to a cd via the computer ?

    Kind regards

You have to buy a Firewire cable (IEEE 1394) to link it to a computer, it cost about $30, Open Windows Movie Maker, put your camcorder in play option, then the computer will detect it.
In Windows Movie Maker clik on capture video and start to downloading.

I had the same problem, i have a canon camcorder, and for two weeks i was trying to download pictures
to my computer, in the end i phoned up canon and asked them, mine came with a charger, what you do is put one end of the usb into the camera, and the other end of the charger into the camera on the other side then plug the charger into a wall outlet, you should see a box come up that gives you options where to download them to, hope this helps.

SOURCE: Download video from camcorder to computer.

buy a dvd player/recorder. plug the camera into your usual jacks(rca) and record.. you can then use that disc on your computer to do whatever editing you want.. that is if everything is compatible

You will require a firewire cable.
Usually a 4 pin to 6 pin cable. 4 pin to camera 6 pin to computer, assuming you PC has a fireiwre socket.
PC computer have Movie Maker as part of the OS.
Connect with the above cable and you should be good to go.

Cant download footage onto computer

It would probably be simpler to buy a card reader. This will also be easier in the sense that you won't be powering the camera while the card is in the computer with the card reader.
Make sure that the camera is turned on while it is connected to the computer and you're trying to sync it.

JVC GR D250U

This camcorder should not require a driver in order to capture the footage. Start up your capture software, power-up the camera in VCR mode and then connect the Firewire cable. It should then allow you to playback the tape and capture the contents.
Here is the manual online:
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/94/LYT1353-001A.pdf
If you need a simple program to capture the footage look to: http://www.virtualdub.org/

Your video-editing software (including Windows Movie Maker) should also capture the footage.
