My tv power comes on and goes off 3 times - RCA P56812BL 56" Rear Projection Television

I would say it is the Power Supply Board, Just replace it and you should be fine

Likely to be Capacitors in the power supply, Getting Baggy or maybe have blown tops or check bottom burst as well, upgrade with higher voltage if possible

Set has a 3 strikes rule built into it----tries 3 times to come on and if fails the set goes into shutdown.

Typical problems include: bad soldering on deflection board, bad parts on that board, bad high voltage transformer, and so on.

This can be from a few things. Either the lamps or the cooling system are failing. or the power supply is not functioning properly. the cost is sometimes more than the tv is worth..shop around..good luck

This will need a capacitor replaced on the power/deflection board. (CP150) This is a very common problem on these sets. Service man will probably charge at least $200

3 flashes means the lamp door is not on correctly or the lamp door switch is broken.

It could be as simple a 3 capacitors in the power supply.Location CP120,CP140 and CP114.
