R4 card menu error

Every time I try to insert my sd card into my R4i upgrade to my DS lite, it comes with the ? menu error. I have tried to format the sd card countless times and tried to install themes and icons to try it out, but sometimes I just get a firmware too good to my hardware in my NDS lite. Kind regards

Your SD card isn't the solution... Try to switch the new card for an other, and say it doesn't work on your DSi.

I have the same problem, i have no trouble putting games onto a r4 or a dstt card, but it is a lot slower with some games, not all games, when putting them onto a r4i or a dstti, i think the problem is the i cards are still in the early stages of development, i think as time goes on the people who make these cards will sort the problem out, i hope, in the meantime we will just have to put up with it, all the games will play but some, but some are slower to load.

When turning nintendo ds lite on it comes up with this message System date error! Please check NDS system date.

it is just an eol (End Of Live) in the software of your ds card.
Plug out your ds and remove your r4 card.
Plug on your ds and change the date to 2009.
Plug out your ds and insert your r4 cart.
Plug on your ds and you can play again.
Now there wil be new software on the internet who is an update on the old software, so if you want to renew your software ist there on the net.

I have just bought a r4 SDHC for my sons ds and it just brings up the red menu? sign in the top screen

There are several different versions of software for the R4 cards. If your R4 card has 'R4i Upgrade' and 'V1.4' in a yellow star on the front or just 'R4 Upgrade' then download this software - http://de.r4i-sdhc.com/R4i%20English%20V1.14b.rar
If your R4 has 'R4i Upgrade' without the 'V1.4' yellow star then download this software - http://de.r4i-sdhc.com/R4i%20English%20V1.09b.rar
If you do not already have 'WinRar' installed then download and install it here - http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar391.exe
When you click the correct link above choose 'save' and save the file on your computer. When it has downloaded insert your R4's SD micro card into the USB adapter put it into your PC. Go to 'My Computer' and look for the SD card drive, probably called 'Removable Disk'. right click the drive and select 'Format'. Check the box to allow a quick format and wait for it to complete. After open the drive by double clicking it to display an empty window and then minimize it to the taskbar with the '-' command in the top right of the window. Next go to the location where you downloaded the software above, usually 'My Documents' or the 'Desktop' by default. Right click the file and select 'Extract Files...'. Click the SD drive you just formatted, i.e 'Removable Disk (E:)' to highlight it in blue and then click, 'OK'.
You may now copy your .nds game files to the SD card or insert it into your R4 cartridge and your DS.

How do I insert my r4 card?

the normal ds does work with the original ds, i have 3. lol. the r4 cart goes in the top of the ds in slot 1, it obviously about the same size as the r4 cart, have ur ds so it facinf downwards to the ground, and insert the game facing upwards so you can see the r4 wording on it, slot all way in until it clicks in, then power up.
