I have a Rocoh Aficio 1027 that is giving me a service code SC 542. Nothing will work. Can you tell me what this service code is for and do you think it can be fixed without a service call as the printer no longer has a contract. Thanks.
Can a fuser code be reset or would it usually required replacing a part? I know how to enter service mode but do not know how to clear it to start printing again. Can a fuser code be reset or would it usually required replacing a part? sp5810 will reset the fuser code but if the thermistor is coated with toner it will come back. if it does it will need to be cleaned or replaced.sp5810 will reset the fuser code but if the thermistor is coated with toner it will come back. if it does it will need to be cleaned or replaced.

That code requires going into the SP (Service Protocol) mode. If you have the service manual, it will tell you which buttons to press to enter it and to exit service mode. Once you enter service mode, power down the printer. If that doesn't reset, you have to go back into service mode, go the the SC/Fuser reset SP and once executed, power down then restart. Hint: you have to go to "SERVICE" then 1 will display. Press the right arrow key until you reach "5" then press the OK button. You can then right or left arrow until you find the reset SP. Good Luck.
Press Clear(yellow)key then press 107 press and hold Stop/Clear(red) key more than 3 second select SP modes, open a front door, turn off the power switch, wait 2 minutes, close the front door and turn ON the copier. SC 541-542 fuser unit thermistors or thermofuses malfunctions.
Hi, there's no sc342 listed in the service manual, and I've never seen that code in years working on these machines. Are you sure it's not a different code, like sc542?
to reset it just enter service mode and cycle power. But first take out the fuser ( right side of copier 2 screws ) and check that the 2 rollers hot and pressure are touching each other no gap between them. The unit you have is a nice unit, for service to fix if replacement is required would be about 300.00 or so... -Carl
I have sc 548 error code also. I was following your instruction, but i couldn't enter to service mode. How do i prepare it? Please write this instruction to me step by step.
To clear level A SC codes such as this SC541, you need to
Enter SP mode, and then turn the main power switch off and on, only.
Please check if the thermistors are the proper ones and are installed correctly in their position properly.
This is also useful for SC542.
Please check the thermostats and fusing lamps for open circuit.
SC 542 is a fuser code that may need resetting. and this should be only done by an qualifyed service representitive as it requiers going into service mode and going into copy sp 5-810 and having it reset or if this does not work you may need a new fuser unit! Again service mode will need to be entered to reset the SC542 as this is a safty feature built in to the copier to keep it from ferther damage
