InterVideo WinDVR 3.0 was running on Windows Xp SP3 32 Bit. But it will not run on Windows 8 64 Bit. What should I do?

Sometimes it will work if you run the program in compatibility mode. Right-Click on desktop icon or launch icon and there should be a "troubleshoot compatibility" May have to try a few different settings until it works.

I use InterVideo WinDVD version 5 on my VAIO desktop computer from 2005. I actually has bought this computer to have possibility to watch DVD discs RAM format, which I'm getting from Panasonic Video...

If this same software worked previously then I would reload the software. If that does not do it then your laser mechanism may have lost its ability to properly focus on the disk surface of ram disks.. There may also be a firmware update that will improve the playback characteristics of your player.

Driver

For DVD drives, no special driver software is required. The drives will work with generic drivers provided with all standard operating systems out of the box.

However, DVD movie playing is *not* done by a driver, it requires an application installed on the PC.

For Windows, AFAIR only Windows 7 can play DVD movies out of the box, using Windows Media Center.

All other versions of Windows require a commercial or free player program, e.g. WinDVD (Corel) or PowerDVD (Intervideo) or VLC (VideoLAN, free).

For burning data or movie DVD, also an application program is needed. Windows Vista and later have some limited support for ISO and UDF files systems written to DVDs. Personally, I like CDBurnerXP for data, and Slysoft's CloneDVD / AnyDVD combo for video.
