SOURCE: how do you find the waste ink collector on a printer/scanner ?
Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste
ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink
and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer
indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.
The waste ink absorption pads are inside the printer, in the very bottom. They are usually soaked with ink when full and are very messy.
Replacing
the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service
facility can take care of for you.
SOURCE: how do I find waste ink collector
there no any waste ink collector, this printer have only a pad for waste ink, (you don't need to replace first time indication) only take the printer to service center to reset this indication.
or
for immidiate printing -
just switch off printer from main (power) swtich then push and hold the on key and paper key then switch on from power. (it's work some time in some pixma)
SOURCE: The waste ink collector is full
The absorber is under the print assembly, it is a pad and can't be emptied. It is a shop repair since you have to use Canon diagnostics to reset the count and clear the error.
SOURCE: ink collector almost full
100% agreed with rrrdddrrrddd. In addition:
Go to Menu->System->INK CU Replace. You will get a warning that overflow may occur(and it's really a messy job), reset the counter and everything should be OK.
