No picture or sound/wont power up

"No picture" "No sound"..... as soon as i plug my tv to outlet i here a relay clicking sound in the unit that repeats over and over,The red power light flashes in sync with the relay sound. The blue light beneath the samsung logo works though. The tv is about 18 months old. Can this be something that i can fix myself, I'm pretty handy at fixing other electronic devices

Your mainboard is damaged, the mainboard is the one where you plug all the cables (component HDMI), it is really easy to replace, you only need to take special care with the screws.
1. remove all screws in the back.
2. unplugg all cables from mainboard.
3. remove all srews from mainboard and replace it.
4. put all screws back and then plug all cables again.
5. double check all mainboard cables are properly secured.
6. Test TV.
7. put the back cover and secure it with the screws.

8. Enjoy your TV again.

To order your mainboard you need your product code and TV model, both are located in the back of the TV next to serial number.

You can order your part directly from your manufacturer or you can use Ebay, You may want to try also a web search with something like this "Samsung LNT5265f 52 mainboard"

Laid tv face down on new rug to install legs, set back on table, sound,no picture.had picture 10 min prior

You should be seeing a validation that the TV is getting power. Like the lights are coming on, or you are hearing clicking when you plug in or power up the TV.

Make sure you have the TV’s power cord plug inserted all the way into the TV.

Also, make sure the TV's cord is plugged into a good power outlet. You may want to plug something else into the power outlet to be sure the outlet is good.

I don’t see how laying down the TV would cause this issue. Unless the TV was kind of dropped and or twisted to cause a board inside the TV to fracture/break.

I hope this information has helped you.

Good Luck.

Relay clicks, but No sound, No picture.

Hello, just try this first.

Unplugged the unit the power outlet for about 60 sec. Then power it on again. If you have surge strip along the line. You should directly switch in on power outlet only. If this doesn't help.

As the relay is working you have power in standby mode. Check its supply voltages if its ok. Secondly you can check the the B+ supply it is in DC, If this is a crt type tv, check its horizontal output transistor, Check its flyback for short circuit. Capacitor near to it rated almost 800V, and deflection coil.

Just for input, hope it helps

Sharp LCD LC-46D64U

Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.
