Driver for hp scanjet 4850 osx 10.9 - Apple Computers & Internet

This fix below will work for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1 guaranteed, the original software was for Windows XP only. HP have the necessary drivers and Vuescan is a third party scanner program, that is every bit as good as the OEM software, in fact I think it is better.
(1) Download and Install HP Scanjet 4850 Driver: setup_basic_4800_14-5.exe from http://www.hp-drivers-download.com/download/hp/setup_basic_4800_14-5.exe.html
(2) Download and Install Vuescan 64 bit: download from http://download.cnet.com/VueScan-64-bit/3000-12511_4-75328364.html

You can download the HP scanner drivers from their supportWEB site. Please click on this link and select your model scanner to download:-http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

On this link you will get the official driver for your scanner for Windows 7 (32 bit). Download it, run it and follow the on screen guide. This is just about the drivers. About software, you can use any image editor software you like, at the programs - accesories is already the Microsoft Paint. You can also try Gimp from this link. It's a freeware remarkable editor. The procedure more or less is the same: start the program and go to "file" - "import from scanner". Follow the on screen steps.

You can download the installation driver and software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows Xp/ Vista..) from the list and download the required drivers and software from the next page which opens.

The list of available drivers will load only after selecting the operating system of the computer.

You will not find drivers for this old scanner. Sorry but this scanner is not compatible with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard, and HP offers no drivers other than for OSx 8.0 & 9.0 which are 10 years old. Time to purchase a new scanner.

Try downloading the newest drivers for you scanjet 4850. Here is the web address for the drivers.

This might be a hardware problem, but it could also be caused by an outdated (or corrupted) driver; you could uninstall the original driver, then download and install the newest version directly from HP here:

If you have the HP Image Zone software installed, you can use the onscreen Help to solve other problems with the scanner. To gain access to the Help, open HP Solution Center, click Help, and then click HP Scanjet 4800 series scanner Help. The Help system provides information about the HP Scanjet 4800 series scanner hardware as well as information about the HP Image Zone and HP Scanning software itself.
