596 72252200 is there supposed to be some type of metal arm that keep my ice maker from continuing to keep making ice. I bought a new ice maker pan and though that might have done the job. My son told me to look for a metal arm. I didn't see one. Not sure if it might have come off during move and never noticed whether or not one was attached. Dan

SOURCE: Ice Maker Not Working

Vik, the ejector blades should be pointing toward you in the 2:00 position when the ice maker is home. This tends to make me believe that your module is bad. Pull the ice maker out again and check the center white gear. There should be 2 clips holding it on. If one of those clips broke, the gear will not rotate right. Another thing you mentioned is that you had water on the back side where the line goes into the fill tube. You may have a frozen inlet tube too. If the tube is frozen, the pressure will force it out the back by that connection. Pulling that tube out can be a pain, try using a hair dryer if the baster not working. On this model, you can't just jump T&H to start the cycle because of the immiters. Follow these instructions to start a cycle.
To jump start the ice maker do the following: Unplug the refrigerator. With the ice maker out of it’s mount but connected to the harness use a insulated jumper wire stripped a quarter inch on each end and place the jumper in the holes marked T & H on the module. Place the ice maker with the jumper in, on the shelf with enough clearance to close the freezer door. Close the freezer door. Plug the refrigerator back in and wait 50 seconds. Now open the door and see if the module is rotating. If so remove the jumper, put the cover back on the module and place the ice maker back in its mount. The water fill should take place when the ejector blades are at the 12:00 position. Note that on some models, after you have done the aforementioned proceedure you have to press and release the light switch 3 times for the module to start.

SOURCE: Ice maker not making ice.

These Icemakers have plastic gears on the modules that are breaking, also some have thermostats that are malfunctioning. I recommend haveing an experianced tech look at the unit to see if you need the new upgraded indoor ice maker.

SOURCE: ice maker not working

In my freezer, there's an infrared beam positioned over the top of the ice bin. If the bin is full of ice, it blocks the beam and no ice can be made. In addition, when you open the freezer door, a small (2x3") door opens in the freezer to block the beam, again to prevent ice from being made while the door is open. Is anything blocking the path of this beam from one side of the freezer to the other?

We have a 7 year old Kenmore Elite trio. The ice maker continues to make ice, but won't dispense it. It appears that the plastic ice shut off arm is stuck in the up position. How can I get it unstuck

Most arms on ice makers are metal.
You might have to take the food out of the freezer temporarily and put the food in an ice chest and disconnect the refrigerator and let it unfreeze the plastic arm.

My estate ice maker drops the ice like it is suppose to but as the plastic fingers move back to position the on off arm moves up and the ice maker goes to the off position, as long as we continue to push...

The arm is traveling too far. You may can take the plastic endcover off the ice maker to observe the end of the arm and slightly bend it there so it won't go as far.

My Kenmore S106 626636 Ice Maker is not producding ice.

You probably have the back side of the I/M hitting the fill tube and pushing the white cup at the end of the I/M in some, which would put pressure on the arm and not let the arm fall down free during a cycle.

Ice maker overfill

The metal off/on arm may be disconnected. A full bin should keep the arm in the up position and shut off the ice maker.
Remove, then re-insert the metal arm in the back of the ice maker control head.
Make sure that a full bin of ice activates the control arm.
You may need to buy a replacement arm that is longer so that the ice catches on the arm.

Ice maker

The arm on my ice maker somehow dislodged itself even though we do not put food on or near the ice bin.
Every time I thought I placed the metal rod into the proper hole. FInally I took a hand mirror and realized there is another hole further back that the arm was supposed to go into. It works fine now. Hope this helps you too.

Mixing Arm Doesn't Turn

As long as it makes the ice cream, it doesn't matter which one turns. If it's not making the ice cream, call Cuisinart, as both the lid and the mixing arm can be replaced.
