Suspect door spring/assembly broken. How do I repair same?

If it's like my whirlpool, pull it out. Spring should be obvious. I doubt the hinge portion is broken. Spring may be. While it's out and springs tend to break, I would replace both. Several online appliance parts stores can help you with springs, my diagnostics and Hinge issue. They have been helpful to me.

IT DOES NOT MAKE CONNECTION WHEN YOU SHUT THE DOOR TO COME ON . WHAT CAN I DO?

Sounds like a broken door switch. Inspect the door switch for any broken parts (sometimes the spring loaded button will break). Switches are generally inexpensive and easily installed.

Detergent holder wont spring open

I suspect the spring is actually broken.

You may be able to order a spring - but unfortunately may only be available as a complete unit.

Try a replacement from Ebay if possible - otherwise order via appliance spares.

Fairly easy to replace - but disconnect from power before attempting to remove door.

The detergent door doesn't pop open.

If you push the door closed not far enough to latch and let go of it does it spring back open if not the spring on the dispencer door is broken or has fell off

Broken door spring?

Either a spring or a door cable. On newer Kitchenaids and Whirlpools, it is usually a "cable" made of rope and plastic that breaks, not the spring itself. Get me the complete model number and I will look it up for you...

Broken door spring on kitchenaid dishwasher

Hello,

Please read our safety information before attempting any testing or repairs. Before repairing the door springs, unplug the dishwasher or shut off the power at the fuse box or breaker panel to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The door opens and closes with the aid of springs. If the springs (or the cables that connect them on some dishwashers) break, the door will drop open hard. The door will also be heavier when closing. If the door drops open, it may also bend the door hinges out of shape resulting in a door that does not close properly and possibly leaks.

When replacing the springs or cables, all of them should be replaced at the same time.
To access the door springs and cables remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to get to the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel.
There are two common types of spring assemblies. One type connects the springs from a hook on the dishwasher cabinet of to a tang on the door hinge .
