Sharp LL 172A-B 17" LCD Monitor Logo
Posted on May 31, 2009

Suddenly the monitor lost its ability to show red. Screen has a green tinge to it. No bright colors anymore. No yellows.

All of a sudden, my sharp monitor lost its ability to show red! Display is dull, color richness has gone. What happened?

    there is no picture tube, it's a flat screen.

Hello, My name is Diane. I've had my flat screen Acer monitor for 14 months and all of a sudden my monitor has no red, orange or pink color. My screen colors are green, blue and yellow. What is the...

hello Diane, actually yellow is mixed red and green.
I thing you should check your cbf cable first (VGA cable).
Or if you have pattern test, use it to make sure which color has lost.
Change VGA cable may can solve it.
If any problem, please let me know.
Thanks and good luck.

My E771 monitor colors suddenly shifted with

Possibilities:
1. video-card gone bad;
2. video-cable gone bad;
3. video-cable not tightly-connected to CRT;
4. video-cable not tightly-connected to video-card;
5. "red" gun inside CRT gone bad.

Disconnect the video-cable from the computer, and try again to adjust the "red". If red-free, then it's time to responsibly recycle the CRT.

Reconnect & wiggle the video-cable, to see if that induces any "red" onto the CRT.

Connect the CRT to the VGA-output port on a notebook computer, to see if that video-card generates "red" as one of the primary colours.

Give the CRT a strong "whack" on the side, to see if "red" makes an appearance.

MY DELL 1525 TURNS ON AND THE NORMAL BLUE SCREEN APPEARS. THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GOES BRIGHT GREEN, THEN BRIGHT YELLOW, AND STAYS BRIGHT YELLOW

Hello,
Please connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if the output is the same. If it displays fine on the monitor, then we are looking at either a screen cable problem or a screen problem. If the display is the same as on the laptop, then it is a problem with the display adapter on the mother board.

All the best.

Mine is HP but most are the same principle. Find the adjustment section, mine is underneath the screen in view. Press the menu button, go to color and make your adjustment.

Color changed suddenly, no red, just green/yellow/blue

Sounds like the color wheel has gone bad and needs to be replaced. This is located behind the back panel.

Screen hazzy and issue with blue convergence

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

Too much yellow in picture

The problem with the set is that the blue gun has gone weak, and not emitting at par with red and green guns in your picture tube. Turn of the blue screen and get the grainy display on the screen (detach the cable) and enter into service mode to fine tune until you get a perfect or black and white grain pattern.
