Hi ,
I got your issue, Inorder to reset the username and password to the default setting the only way is to reset the router , look on the router you will have a pin hole button, push that reset button for 10 -20 sec. Then you can login to the router using username 'smcadmin', password - 'admin' or 'blank'.

If by security key you mean the one to connect to the router and use it (also called a WEP/WPA key) - you can find this inside the router config, login to the router via the web login page (you'll need to connect to the router via lan cable to do this) and once your inside you'll find the key somewhere in its settings, you can change it in there too.

Well, once reset you will need to login to the interface and resetup all the connection information. You can do that from the WEB interface just logon and reset. No special software (except a web browser) is needed.
I think the SMC default address is http://192.168.2.1 just log on and set it up. Resetting just restores the factory defaults, it does not erase the system.

Rarely does a router need software on a computer. Even the linksys that have a big sticker USE CD FIRST -- its only there for those who don't understand routers!
