Press Menu/OK. Use the zoom rocker to select the icons in the bottom of the monitor. 2nd symbol from the left is the selftimer. Set Selftimer to ON and press the shutter button. It will give a 10 secs. delay. You can cancel the selftimer with the Disp/back button. The selftimer has to be activated for every shot.
try to check this path: Press the Menu button, then press the top/bottom arrows on the Jog dial to select DRIVE. Press the right arrow and press the top/bottom arrows to select. Press the left arrow on the Jog dial to confirm the setting. If you take a picture without pressing the OK button, the setting will be valid until the Menu is canceled. To take a picture using the selftimer, when the shutter is released, the Selftimer/Remote control signal lights for approx. 10 seconds then blinks for approx. 2 seconds before the picture is taken. To stop the activated selftimer, press the Menu button.
Press the 4-way switch downwards to cycle through the selftimer modes: First press shows the selftimer symbol, which means 10 secs delay, next press shows selftimer2 symbol, which gives 2 secs delay. When delay is set, press the shutter button to take the picture. The selftimer lamp will blink untill the picture is taken.
There is the oclock icon on the round thing that called the dial control. The flash, flower, oclock, etc icons are on the dial control. The selftime icon looks like a oclock face. Hit it one or more than one times and the icon will appear on LCD, so your done. Should set the selftime at higher ( 10 second some like that ) that for you have time to be in the picture.

Basically you can have the camera selected to any mode on the mode dial - press Ok - right arrow to Mode Menu - highlight camera tab and left arrow over and then down arrow to the symbol that looks like a clock - this is the self timer option. right arrow over and make sure you select it to on - and then press ok.
Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway locks
the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately 2
seconds, the picture is taken.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.
