The tub agitated fine during the wash cycle, but doesn't always soon during the rinse. It sounds like it wants to spin and the motor sounds like it's trying to,, but the tub isn't moving. If you lift the lid while this is happening, something clicks in the bottom of the machine and the tub starts spinning when the lid is closed
There is a bad spot in the timer when this is happening!!! It may work sometimes but when It gets to that spot, it won't, until you lift the lid and close it back down!!! Replace the timer!!!

Curdy, it almost sounds like your lid switch is loose or fractured and the lid actuator is not making the switch. Check this out first and post back...Catriver.
SOURCE: Spin Cycle
you can check the direct drive coupling between the motor and the transmission, if the coupling is good and not broken then you have a transmission problem

Its going to be only 1 of 2 or maybe both things, on your washer its going to be a faulty transmission that is stuck in nuetral OR will be a bad clutch/brake assembly that is stuck or has a broken finger that is catching after you slow it down but usually it would make a bad clicking noise if that was the issue so plan on the transmission. Its actually pretty easy to do if you have some mechanical ability. Another rare but possibility would be the block that holds the tub on the tranny shaft, but you would hear a bad noise also when you lifted the lid.

Improperly installed thrust bearing kit. Too many washers cause the basket to spin during agitation.

Sounds like a bad gearcase. You have a machine that is direct drive. The motor is hooked directly to the gearcase by a little coupler. Look under and make sure the coupler is in place if it is then you need gearcase.Again the coupler is located between the motor and gearcase. Hope this helped.
