We are having problems with the grinder I think. We have removed all beans according to manual, let machine dry out, taken grinder shield off and vacuumed out area, used grinder tool to turn grinder - nothing seems to work. Everything else on machine is fine, including when you put pre-ground coffee in funnel - that works fine. It doesn't seem like anything is stuck in the grinder. I would love to get some advice on this the Jura impressa S9 comes up with messag fill beans but when I do the message is still their. Also when I push the button for a cupof coffee, the amount of water is very little.( I don't know if this is be connected with the message above) Hope that someone can help me to solve the problem.
You need to open the grinder, it`s probably packed with old fine powdered coffee that blocks the outlet. Clean this out and try again. Since it works normal when you use pre-ground coffee, there shouldn`t be any problems with any other parts.
Let me know if you want a description for have to open and clean the grinder.
Good luck!
On this model there`s no sensor in the bean container. The message Fill Beans is generated during the tamping or compressing of the grinded coffee. On the motor there`s an encoder that reads out how many turns the motor has before it stops. If this is to long, the logical explaination for the machine is that there`s not enough coffee, ergo you have to fill beans.
Usually this happens because the grinder is packed with fine powdered coffee that`s blocking the outlet from the grinder.
You need to take off the toppanel; there`s 7 Torxscrews (could be Phillips if you have an older model). When you lift up the panel you get right to the grinder. Be sure to mark the position of the grinder. Theres 3 colored marks that shows the medium position. Turn the black plastic collar counter clockwise until it stops, then lift off the knives. Clean up everything inside, but never touch the centerscrew, this part is balanced on tiny springs and steelballs. You will probably not be able to get this back again correctly. When you reassemble the grinder, remember to check the colored marks.

SOURCE: Jura Capresso Impressa S9- no steam
Hi,
Great solution - solved 80% of the problem I had - would also add to check the pressure relief valve (back of pump where water lines to thermo blocks attach). Noticed presure was still low after cleaning solenoid. Ran steam with cover off top (cup warmer plate) and notice water flow in clear line at top (you will see the line). Went to pump, pulled off hose block at back of pump, and popped (carefully) off the black cap which separates the water to the brewer from the steamer. Cleaned this needle and seat, and the spring too, and the pressure now is extremely high at at the steamer wand. 100% fix now.
