Blu-Ray HDMI Preferred Format Invalid Error?

I get video but NO sound via HDMI connection from blu-ray player to Hisense 55K610GW LED flat panel tv. Both the tv and blu-ray player are new out of the box with the blu-ray player being purchased earlier this year but never used until set-up today. Both have wifi connection and firmware updates so. . . I don't know what's going on. I just want to watch blu-ray movies on my brand new LED HD system.

I have a Pixma MP 280. It would not recognize the new original cartridges. It is a waste of money and time. I won't buy anymore Canon. Hope the other brands won't do the same thing.

SOURCE: Invalid format error with P1600 blu-ray and LG LCD TV 42"

It may be a firmware issue if hdmi works with other items such as playstation.
If no hdmi the main Pcb hdmi ports are bad and the main Pcb would have to be replaced.

Consumers cannot upgrade the firmware so a shop would be the only option.

SOURCE: I have an LG 42LC2D TV with INVALID FORMAT ON HDMI2

I have had this same issue.

Problem your tv isnt true 1080p meaning it will not work however when you switch to componet cables goto menu then change the display settings to 720p or 1080i then your HDMI connection should work fine.

Can I connect my Blu-ray player to a tv that does not have an hdmi plug outlet?

Yes, IF your blu-ray player has another form of out-put like RCA jacks that match what your TV does have. Use this format. By not being able to use the HDMI port from your blu-ray player will only hinder video quality. Your tv that doesn't have a HDMI port already tells me video quality wont justify what your Blu-ray is capable of. Hope this helps.

Philips quadrasurf TV

Analogue TV reception has nothing to do with signals from Blu-ray players.

Connect your Blu-ray player to either a HDMI port on the TV, or use a HDMI to DVI adapter (which is picture only) and supplement it with a a connection for audio via RCA/phono- or RCA/phono to jack cable from the BD player to the TV.

Press the AV Input button on the remote to cycle through the input sockets.

My blu ray 3d dvd player will not show picture on blu ray discs only sound but will play regular dvds correctly

The video for blu ray disks come out of the HDMI port and that has to be connected to the TV for video. If it is connected, make sure the TV is switched to the correct HDMI port on the TV (assuming you have a flat screen HDTV).

42LG50 TV - Intermittant sound problems with blu-ray HDMI input

You say this doesn't happen on regular cable or when playing a regular DVD. Hmm. Is this Blu-Ray player connected by simplink? HDMI is a bi-directional format cable, so  there are cases in setups where your tv can send commands to your blu-ray player and vice versa. It could be a problem with your blu-ray player that it is sending for some odd reason a mute command to your tv. Or is processing a command that your TV interprets to be a mute command when playing blu-rays. Because if it was the TV itself chances are you'd see this when watching a normal DVD or on cable as well. Since you say you're not, it leads me to believe the issue lies with the blu-ray player itself.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy
