Weights are stuck and won't come off - Bowflex Selecttech Dumbbells

I sure wish I had a solution for that..other than the dealer or maybe even a locksmith. All I have to offer is that when you do get it fixed if you have 15 keys, a flashlight and a charm on your key ring that is probably what caused it in the first place, the sheer weight and swinging of all those keys is not designed in to the switch to tolerate that. If that is not the case, sorry..I am guessing because I have seen it happen. Best of luck.

there should be a round weight the is around the end of the suction hose. this weight should be free moving. the weight helps keep the tiger shark to the floor. good luck.

Did You checked the weights and the moving mechanism of the sheave ? Sometimes the weights or sheave are worn out or the mechanism stucks .

Replace the cabel it is rusted

weel you must read the specification of your model, what is the maximun weight that is acceptable. However you must LUBE the deck belt with silicones or wax , read your owner manual for this, and execute inmediately.

sounds like the governor gear is stripped ( Its plastic). The governor has weights and springs that spin. When the weights spinning overcome the spring tension,as you excellerate it opens a valve telling the trans to shift. ....I had the same problem on my Chevy van...... this is a very cheap fix at a honest mechanic shop .

I am having the same issue with the 8900 model hight cable, it at least a full inch short. It is routed correctly, according to the diagram in the build instructions. I have to force the top weight down to slide the pin into the weights below the top weight. I am leaving weight tension on the cable in hopes that the cable will "stretch" to fit at some point. I'm not super confident in this, but it seems to be my only choice, other than order a new cable, hoping that it will be an inch longer.

The problem is that the engagement dogs are not engaging. all you need to do is remove the pullcord housing. you will see where the pullcord disc slides onto a shaft. Just below that are the dogs in question. they are getting stuck. Lubricate the attach points with WD30 or another light weight lubricating oil. reassemble and you should be all set.
