Question about Televison & Video
Other than taking the television to a repair shop not much can be done. I recommend a new television. Excellent brands are Sony, and Samsung. Both brands are quality televisions. Best of all you can order them on Amazon.com for lower prices.

Testimonial: "Thanks... Have seen complaints and questions about similar problems with Sony and Samsung TVs as well.... I would need to replace a smaller size screen (due to small space) I live in Australia so no ordering from Amazon, lol."

Sounds like your display panel is going out. Has the tv been droped, or hit by anything? You should call your customer service number to confirm.

Any fault of this description is normally a fault with the screen. The only way to remedy is to have the screen replaced.

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
If the lines are there on every input then you have a bad panel (screen). The panel is the front screen section, if you could get one a new panel would cost more than a new TV. If the line is only there with the cable box then its just a bad box (I've seen the pace box do this)

I also have a 2 yr old Sony KDL32xbr4 that now has multi-colored vertical lines on the screen. I contacted Sony and they say they have "no known issue" of this sort for this model. I find this rather puzzling since I have found numerous postings on the web. They told me to try the factory reset. Whatever. Might as well have said "don't buy a Sony". 2 years! $1300 for a tv and it lasts 2 years! Makes me sick to my stomach.

Either the buffer board is bad or the plasma panel, sometimes it coult be bad connections on the interconnect ribbon cables from the plasma panel to the buffer boards.
