Hi,
Would like to tell you that there is nothing wrong with your PS3, but it's the T.V that is causing the problem.
Unfortuntely, the only thing that will cause a thin line or two is the lcd panel assembly. The cost to replace this would be really high so the best you can do is put up with it as long as you can, then replace the set.
Apologies on the bad news but i must be honest with you. I have seen this with all makes of both lcd and plasma tv's
panel defective or control pcb.the control pcb
is connected to the panel the control board is not sold seperate from the panel.check this website shopjimmy.com for the control pcb.if control board does not correct problem then
the panel is defective.
replace all the surface mounted electrolytic capacitors on the hyper module. also called the scan converter module. this is a common trouble. what a nasty job. good luck.
you can have a bad CRT, a bad chroma module, either one can show the symptoms you are describing. You will need a TV repair tech for the right diagnosis.
I have a Toshiba 48" rear projection TV which started to show red and green lines on the left side of the screen and have also started affecting the left-hand focus of the image shown on the screen. I have had this TV for 14 years and had a projection adjustment done once before.
Using your TV's remote control press the right cursor button three times
and it will adjust the Screen to the right and the green line will
disappear. Use the left button if your green line is on the left.
