SOURCE: i have a dx302. its not heating the water or drying.

Hi,

Based on your question, location of the heating element:

  • in most versions, the heating element surrounds a short section of the stainless steel tube on the outlet side of pump (clamped hose section either side).
However, a couple of things you can try:
  • verify the "ECO" mode is not enabled;
  • check the connectors to the power module (probable loose);
  • control unit circuit board (P/N 03674001441) (behind the panels off the front door), check/correct cold solder particular on the relay legs;
  • this might be of an illustrative help.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Where is the heating element

The heating element is usually the big ring at the bottom of the unit, to test you will need a Multimeter and you should have a reading in OHMS. You will have to access the element from behind or some unplug? One really needs a service manual or diagram at least?
This reading OHMS, will be a result of the formula derived from the Elements, Wattage, Amps multiplied by Volts, W, of said element. Formula, W = A times V. OHMS = Volts divided by Amps.
EG: 2000W Element = 2000W/120V = 16.666Amps therefore to get OHMS we divide the Voltage by the Current(Amps) and we get our OHMS so, 120V/16.6A = 7.2OHMS.
So to get your expected reading you need to find out exactly what Wattage your element is, apply the formula, and derive the OHMS, your element should be within 10%. If it is it is OK, if anything else it is faulty, simple as that.
Sometimes it is the CCU board and not the element itself, if the element appears OK, then suspect either the CCU, (Central Control Unit) or thermostat or indeed the Thermistor sensor? One must work through the troubleshooting procedures to tell.

This, among others, is a very common problem these are not considered to be good machines, a quick search of the net, gives many horror stories of this and other common failures, however in finding all this i have been unable to find, exact answers or a service manual, or even a exploded parts diagram.
You maybe best served by getting a "Quote" for any prospective repairs and then make up your mind as to repair or replace, indeed it maybe best to put any larger amount of monies that may have to be spent on repairs, be put towards the cost of a new unit, with a warranty? As I wonder if this unit may simply continue to fail again, over the years?

Why does my dishlex dishwasher DX302 not heat

Dishwashers require a gap for air flow all the way around, not tight fit.
If it works when out but not installed, check the water pipe is not kinked and the door switch is working properly.

I have a dx302. its not heating the water or drying.

My six year old Electolux Dishlex DX 403 dishwasher stopped heating the water. I found comments on the internet about burnt out solder joints in the control box. A friend opened the control box and found a blackened area on the back of the circuit board. Once the connection was re-soldered the water heated again. We also found that quite a few wires leading to the control box had overheated and the insulation had melted. Considering that this dishwasher was the top model from Electrolux at the time, I was not impressed. I had previously had a Vulcan Dishlex for almost 20 years.
Thanks to those people who previously posted information about this fault.

Dishlex dx 302 heat drying

Found I had no hot water in my Dishlex DX302 and did a google search and found this page.

My problem was found to be the same as the others; one of the solder joints on the relay on the control board had arced off.
You could see the burn mark on the board and cover where it had been arcing.

Soldered it back together, and now it seems to be going good again.
Now my only problem is a damaged door seal, which means a small water leak; I have used part of a rubber glove to bridge the gap, and it reduces the water leak.
