The status monitor is reporting that the "bidirectional support is disabled". When I try to print I get the message that printing was unable to be done due to a printer error. What is the bidirectional support?
SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare 5100 won't print
Hi FixYa team, my Kodak printer's "Check color ink" red light was flashing so I just put in a new color ink cartridge (even though I am only printing black and white). I restarted the machine to try and print some address labels and it acts like it is printing but the paper comes out blank yet I can print pictures. I tried to print and email and it won't do that either.
Thanks.
SOURCE: Kodak 5100 won't print with Windows 7.
I've had the same problem for some time, but recently found a fix.
Those sneaky folks at Kodak updated their Vista driver for the ESP
series, and it works with Windows 7 now. Oddly enough they haven't
advertised this fact, but it works none-the-less. Now, you're going to
have to uninstall the Kodak Home Center, the driver and anything else
associated with Kodak. You need to manually go through the Program
Folder and delete anything Kodak. Make sure you set explorer to show
hidden files/directories, and go to Program Data and delete any thing
Kodak. Finally go to users appdata and delete anything Kodak in all
the sub folders there. Then download and install the new May 1 drivers
from the Kodak site:
http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9103/13657/13660&product=EKN035329
Note: They are the Windows Vista drivers, but they do work on my Windows 7 machine.
You'll also notice that they've updated their installer program.
Hope this works for you, and if it does spread the word!
SOURCE: Printer says 'Unable to detect paper width'
The paper tray has some "fingers" that detect the paper.
Remove the paper and tap the sensors a few times to make sure they are not stuck.
Use lots of mamper, not just one sheet so that there is enough weight to press down on the sensors.
Perhaps it is Earth's gravity that is malfunctioning today :)
SOURCE: esp 3250 just upgraded to win 7 and plugged
I just looked at the Kodak website and could only find the following reference - it is for windows xp but you could try and see if it will work with windows 7.
For WINDOWS 2000 and XP Operating Systems:
Hope that helps.
SOURCE: Error message that color cartridge has low ink, so
No way 2 override the message. Printer works on a combination of both black and color ink to print those perfect pictures and documents. If it is showing color ink needs replacement, you ve 2 change it in order to print even in black and white.
