Regent model ht-2004! volume down button is stuck or something like that, and the speakers are not making any sound. whenever I turn on the speakers they go from normal sounding all the way down to mute! what is the problem? can it be fixed? or should i go get a new one?

This may be a power supply failure, and or a short in the output stage, and in the drivers for the output stage.
This is not a repair you can do at home unless you have a lot of experience in troubshooting and analysing problems in power amplifier equipment.

This is a piece of **** unit. Mine only works on the left side, sometimes. When those times are I have NO idea. It doesn't seem to play 5.1 correctly and it goes into speaker protect mode for NO reason. It is TRUE lemon !!! ..let me know if you have any other problems with this JUNK [email protected]

This may sound like a silly check, but verify that the tape monitor switch is not engaged. What is the quality of the sound when turned up? Is the cound clear or raspy?

take a flathead and pry it out of the housing and use a pencil eraser to change the volume from now on. the button itself is behind the plastic button switch that's stuck down.
