SOURCE: Kitchenaid Superba Ice Maker quit

Water dispenser works fine eliminates some potential probems, so disconnect the water line at the outlet of the water valve leading to the icemaker. Blow into the tube (with the freezer door open so the air has an escape route.) If you can't blow through the tube, check where the tube passes into the freezer section for an ice blockage. This would result from a water valve not shutting off 100 %, allowing a little water to dribble in and freeze the inlet shut. If you can blow through the tube, most likely the electric solenoid coil on the water valve supplying the ice maker water is bad. In either case, replace the valve. (it is a dual solenoid valve, part # 2315533)

SOURCE: Hotpoint CSX22GR water dispenser not working

The residule water in the line freezes, you need to unthaw the freezer door. Then you constantly need to use the water from the dispenser to keep it from refreezing.

SOURCE: ice maker in Kitchen Aid stopped making ice

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Either valve solenoid supplying water to ice maker is bad, or supply tube to ice maker is frozen(which is typically caused by leaky water valve), or ice maker is bad.

Why does my ge pss26lg side by side despense water but no ice?

Just because you get water from the dispenser does not mean you should also get ice made in the ice maker. Fact is there are two side to the water control valve. One for the ice maker and the other for the water dispenser. Is there ice remaining inside the ice maker slots? If not then pour water into the tray until full and if after the water freezes it drops the ice into the ice bin this will indicate a defective=> WR57X10032 Water Inlet Valve If nothing happens and the ice maker tray are full of ice this will indicate a defective=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly The ice maker is cannot be rebuilt on this model. Water dispenser does not work. However, the ice maker does work so there is water availabe. Could this be a pump problem, if yes how do I replace.

It is not your pump, because despenser and ice maker both get water from the same pump.
Water despenser is activated by a small plunger when you press your water glass against it
to release the water. This is your problem, bad plunger.

Water despenser

The water dispensing valve may not be functioning, if the valve buzzes or hums when the water dispenser is pressed the valve may be mechanically deficient, if there is no sound whatsoever the switch for the dispenser, the dispensing valve coil or its electrical connections may have failed.

Ice Dispenser

hi there,

Maytag MSD 2432GR Water not feeding into Ice Maker

one possible solution is that the ice maker water valve has failed (solenoid). I would try switching the wires on the water valves and see if water goes into the ice maker when you push the water dispenser button, if it does the valve is ok. If you go this far go ahead and fill the ice maker with water ( about half to two thirds full) switch wiring back as first found and see if maker will freeze and dump ice, if it does ok, if not the problem is probably in the ice maker.

Ice Dispenser Doesn't work...

sounds like the water coming into the icemaker is spilling over or leaking into the ice despenser bucket.... check for ice build up or plugging of water chut into ice maker
