Error 6502 is the ink tank position sensor error. Basically means the printer can't see the inks. Try reseating them. If this fails you need to send it back.

Canon mp830 error code 6502

Hi Dee,
The error code 6502 indicates an ink tank position sensor error. There's no communication between the printer and the newly installed cartridges. To clear this, you have to remove the cartridges, check the plastic tape usually around them when new and make sure you COMPLETELY remove this tape.Ensure nothing is covering the chip or LED on the rear of the print cartridge. Also gently wipe out any appearing smudges.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Canon Pixma IP600D - error code 6502

Hello,

What is the brand name and model of your printer? Make sure that your ink cartridges are precisely the correct cartridges for the brand and model that you are using. From what I have experienced ... if you try to use a used ink cartridge you will recieve an error.

Canon iP 3300 printer service error 6502

CANON PIXMA IX IP 4000 - error 5100 and error 6502

While testing the printer the cover must be closed!
So if you have a CISS in your printer you have to close the cover after replacinq cartridge because after that
replacinq the printer is testinq the cartridges also with the blinkinq LEDS which are installed on the ink's!
There is a light LED sensor under the cover which detects the blinking.
So if you have destroyed the LED on chips or if you covered them with glue OR if you will leave the cover opened
and press cover-open detection button with a pen (then the day ambient light will come inside to cover)
you will get an error 6502 or error 5100. I think that the same error will come with all printers which use
CLI8 CLI-8 cartridges.
Remebre that the blinking led have to be clean and blink after installing new cartidge.

Other reason is that you mixed the chips ang give i.e. chip from yellow to blue and blue to i.e.red. and black to yello etc etc. (YOU MIXED THEM :) )
I hope it will help
