SOURCE: limp mode

This must be the turbo version.
The epic pump was fly by wire and suffered from water getting into the plug on the back of the pump.
Try removing the plug and check. If wet dry out and try.

Also the throttle pedal potentiometer used to fail, so the engine would only tickover and not rev up.

SOURCE: Hi ,Ihave a diesel focus

I think you are on the right track. The solenoid should make some kind of noise when engaged or shutt off. Be sure you have power at solenoid with key on and tap on it with something. If it dose not engage it probably is the solenoid. good luck

3016 Mahindra. No fuel to the injectors. Fuel to the fuel pump. Pump working. I am told that there is a solenoid that screwed into the rear of the engine that might be stuck. How do I check.

In the old days a diesel engine was fitted with a mechanical stop engine control. Later in order to provide the driver with fewer controls and to link engine control to the ignition switch, an electric solenoid valve was fitted into the injection system, usually between the medium pressure pump and the injection pump (DPA type) - this would usually find the solenoid fitted to the injection pump and connected to an ignition live circuit so when the ignition was switched on fuel would flow and when switched off the flow would cease and the engine would stop.

Sometimes the solenoid would fail, sometimes it would stick but most often the supply would fail.

Modern electronic diesels are stopped by electronic means.

key stop diesel engines normally have a fuel shut off solenoid on the fuel pump check it for correct operation
check for a blown fuse that is stopping it from working

Hi iv got an 02 2 liter transit 52 reg iv got diesel poring out ov injector pipes but wont start even with a tow if I take intake pipe off and spray wd40 down it will try and start as I said iv got loads...

if this is a common rail diesel then the pump will not be producing sufficient pressure to operate the injectors. There will be fuel at the injectors but not the required pressure (20.000 +psi )
if it is a in-line pump or rotary pump there may be a problem with the pump timing

Ford transit 350 2.4 on 2001 cut out while driving and wont start i can get fuel up 2 injector pipes by handpump but when we turn it over it will not fire and there is no smoke comin out of exaust

Your hand pump doesn't supply enough continuous pressre to feed fuel throgh the injectors. You probably need to replace the fuel pump or maybe something as simple asthe pressure regulator

Ford transit 1998 turbo diesel red light

this sound like you fuel injector pump stop solenoid is faulty it has an elec wire attached to it that with ign turned on it opens (clicks ) then clicks off/closes the fuel supply to the pump so engine stops ok? however the seal on the valve may have parted from the operating piston valve on solenoid and although it is free to allow fuel enough for start and running will also restrict fuel flow for more revs resulting in power loss as you mention ? also when ign is turned off the valve will operate but seal being not attached to piston ? fuel can still flow/seep thro to f i p and allow engine to continue to run ? hope you understand ?? this solenoid valve is a screw in type normally on top of f i p with a single wire to energize it looks like a larger type of temp sender unit ?

Motor not running

The problem was a electronic box which controls the multi valve system on the fuel pump not the ERPS. The box had lost it's earth contact. These motors don't have a cut off solenoid like older diesels, a lot of trial and error to find.
Now a happy fellow.
