My Insignia NS-LCD32 TV won't power on. The remote has good batteries, the outlet has power etc. Insignia says to unplug it it for a few seconds and then plug it back in. I tried that multiple times with no effect. We did have a power outage last night (I could tell because the lights were blinking 12:03 am), but we have had outages before with no effect to the TV. I've had the tv about a year. The tv won't power on by remote or by depressing the tv power on button. Any suggestions, reasons? Please advsie Rod Yardville NJ
The power surges have probably blown the fuse in the power supply board. This may not be the only problem. If you are still under warranty, you will need to have it serviced at a service center. If not You will need to find a repair person or center to open the unit and test it for you. This television and all your electronic equipment should be protected with surge protectors. The reason is your power company has problem with power outages and this will damage your equipment. There is no built in self defense for this equipment due to the huge variants involved with power companies. You should call Insignia and ask them where you can find a authorized service center. You can call the Insignia customer support at this telephone number 1-877-467-4289. Tell them the model number of your television and the problem you have had with its failure to turn on.They will be able to help you find a service center to test and repair your television. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

So, For anybody who doesn't know yet, you do not need the factory remote to restore button functions to your Insignia IS-LCDTV26. All you need to do is program a universal remote that can power on and off the TV, then
"**press the "MUTE" Button 10 times successively**"
and Voila! Unlocked, you should see the status appear in the corner of the TV if everything worked, if not try another tv code or try the manual search function on the remote to find another compatible code set.
