I think I have a problem with my ballast, I just got a replacement lamp for my rca hdtv replaced it, but still no picture (but there is sound), sounds like the lamp is struggling to power up. The power indicator light blinks five times, stops and repeats over and over again, it then blinked continuously for about a minute. Does this sound like a ballast problem? or is there some special lamp replacement procedure that i didn't do? What exactly is the function of the ballast and what are the common issues when one needs to be replaced. Any solution would help so much. Thank you!
Ballast Board #261629 Ballast is what turns Lamp on, Also Check your Lamp Fan if it is defective Lamp will not Light!
I also am having the same problem as well. I did notice also that when i use to turn on the tv the first thing i always heard was the fan coming on then the picture would come in shortly after. But all of a sudden now since we replaced the bulb (for the 5th & last time) we do not hear the fan coming on. I refuse to spend any more money on this unit when there are so many more out there on the market that do not require bulbs. We have replaced the bulb in this unit once a year for the last 5 years at almost 200.00 per bulb it's crazy.

Replaced lamp on 52' samsung tv and still no audio or visual.
I would check all the electrolytic caps in the P/S. The ballast is trying to ignite the lamp but needs a better kick in the _ _ _. You'll probably have to use an ESR checker... Let me know how you do?
SOURCE: replace lamp on 50' rca dlp and still no working.
i just replaced the lamp in rca m61wh185yx1, and the tv is doing the same thing----blink---blink----blink---flashes-steady
what-else could it be
