My Toshiba E-Studio 650 is displaying a paper jam in the copier. I have removed all paper jam and I have replaced sensor. What am I missing?

There are other sensors to check or verify that there is continuity in the wires of the sensor that you've removed

good luck

Trying to replace the paper roll on a sharp EL1801V

1 Turn off the Sharp EL-1801V.

  • 2 Cut the end of the replacement paper roll for a fresh edge and to ensure a smooth feed. Do not tear the paper roll, as feeding a torn paper roll can cause a paper jam.
  • 3 Insert the cut edge into the paper opening on the back of the Sharp EL-1801V. Hold the paper roll so that the edge being fed into the machine is coming from the bottom of the roll. Turn the power on.
  • 4 Press the "Feed" button until the paper is fed through the unit. Lift the metal paper roll holder up. Slide the paper roll onto the paper-roll holder.

I have a Kodak ESP7 Printer that has paper jammed inside that there seems no way to get too. The Paper draw does not come right out.

Remove the paper tray. Turn the printer around with the back facing you. there should be two plastic tabs to press and open the rear paper port path of the printer. Open it and see if you can reach the jammed paper. If you cannot reach it from this area, unplug the printer from the power source, press and hold the power button for sixty seconds and turn it upside down. Shake it gently to see if the paper falls out (if it is a small piece ect.). If its not a small piece, plug the printer back in and when the jam error shows on the display click the "ok" or "accept" button. when you click that button - get ready to grab the paper quickly. Pressing the button causes the rollers to roll backwards and then forwards and reset the paper. It will roll the paper towards you and pause for a few brief seconds before pulling it back in again. that will be your change to remove it.

Can I get any technical info on the sensors related to paper jams?

what info are you looking for? these usually jam in the fuser, or the jams happen when the feed sections are not working and the paper never makes it out of the tray, then it will seem to be "phantom jams" but the jam sensors rarely go bad.

    Paper jam

    Hi,

To fix this kind of error, remove the ink cartridge and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it.Check if anything comes out.If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of card stock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there. Open up the printer and clean the insides with a soft cloth and a brush. That should remove all the bits of paper inside. The teeth on the roller sides may have some dirt stuck on them which does not allow the rollers to roll freely and hence is as bad as paper jam. The idea is that the rollers do not roll whether because of paper or some dirt on the roller teeth. They have to be cleaned.

    Thank you !!
