Hi Lisa,
Both picture and sound missing indicate a bad main board.

Do this first. Shine a flashlite on the screen to see of you can see a picture with the TV on and listening to a program. If you CAN see a picture the backlight drivers are bad If no picture the T-con board is bad. You can get parts from here :www.shopjimmy.com

See my previous answer for this--most likely a blocked or bad video head in the unit (dirty or blocked is most common)

If you have menu and no picture, it is the video processor ic that is defective, or a bad tuner module that loads the picture down so no picture can get through, either way it will be expensive repair.

It can be either the LCD panel driver board, or the worst case is bad LCD panel.

Sharps are known for bad tuners and cold solder joints.If you tap on tuner and picture comes back there is cold joints in tuner, If not most likley bad tuner. if the audio is there with blue screen it is the tuner definitly.good luck

The bad news,your set needs a new inverter board installed.With persistence to sharp,you might be able to get them to pay for the parts.

1) Solder any / all bad connections

2)troubleshoot,locate and replace any bad parts in pincushion
circuit....start with pin amp output.......

3)No problem found ?.........could be bad yoke.................T.
