Guard is broken
Hi. Bad news is that the broken part looks like it is actually the gearbox casting. You will need to completely strip the machine to sort this, and it may not be cost effective. The base, swing guard, blade spindle and gear assemblies, motor and motor housing will all need to be removed and refitted to a new casting. Are you sure you wouldn't prefer to buy a new saw at this point?
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
If it is steel u can use J B weld for steel or u can wire weld it if u have the equipment if not take it to a local body shop they will have the equipment to fix it

The spring hooks onto the blade guard and wraps around the hub of the blade guard. It is orta hard to see but it will hook onto the guard.
