Check if the water pump is not blocked in any way preventing the water from emptying properly as the machine wont continue until the water sensor tell the machine that its ready for the next cycle the pump may not be doing its job preventing the next cycle to take place eric

SOURCE: Loud noise when draining and spinning

It sounds like it has something to do with the pump which can be located in the direction of the noise. It could be something as simple as the belt wearing out or even just the pump came loose off of its mounts. Worst case scenario would be a new pump but it honestly sounds like something a little less intrusive. I know I had one that I had to hold down with a bungee cord because the mount had broken off of it.

SOURCE: GE WJSR1070A top loader wont aggitate.

You either have a bad timer, transmission, or the agitator is stripped on the splined shaft

Check your motor drive coupler. Tilt washer back against wall and look between motor and transmission . You will see a rubber grommet and two plastic couplers on each end of rubber , They may appear broken or you will see rubber shavings under washer.

SOURCE: Maytag turns on but won't aggitate

ahh sounds like the maytag drain pump, it seizes up and over heats the motor. look for belt under unit, pump is front right or rear right. buy the pump asm. They sell a pump by itself but you want the assembly at the same price, its a newer design

SOURCE: Water Overflows from washer

Hello,Sounds like a problem with either the inlet valve or the pressure switch, way to determine which on is while it is filling pull the plug..if water keeps filling it's the inlet valve..if it stops filling it's the pressure switch..If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again..good luck!! What controls the water cut-off feed during cycles and when dail is set in off position.

There are electronically turned on and shut off water valves that are controlled by a water level sensor which varies based on what load size/water level you need Small, Medium, or Large. So if the valve gets stuck open since it's an old machine, the water will just keep coming in. But let me ask you this? If you turn the house water value on n NOW...will the wash machine just start filling? If so, it means your valve is stuck open so you would need to replace the water valve which is like $50 online. If the house water valve is on, and when you start the washing machine it starts filling, but just keeps on filling...that's probably because your water level sensor is messed up. So you have 2 things to check...is it the washer water valve is stuck open? or is it the water level sensor that isn't sensing when the washer is full so it just keeps filling it.

I put in a load. The machine filled up but did not stop filling. The dial did not proceede to next step, it stayed at the 10. Overflowing EVERYWHERE. When we moved the dial manually to spin, it drained...

your fill switch is either bad or "gllitched" and the timer cannot move until this switch senses the right amount of water for the load unless its an electronically sensed water/load capacity filled machine, when it starts, the water fills the unit and the pressure switch shuts the water fill off when at selected water level and powers the timer to continue the wash cycle,it works off a "bellows" on air pressure to change a switch by air pressure to operate the machine when full of water

Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer

If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.

Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.

To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.
