Yes the washer is "thinking" that the door is open and will not allow it to come on, sounds like a faulty door switch.Yes the washer is "thinking" that the door is open and will not allow it to come on, sounds like a faulty door switch.

this sounds as if the drive motor for the drum to rotate has some sort of obstruction to it's turning freely , unplug unit then remove the lower back panel , locate drive motor ther on bottom (round thing) see how difficult it is to rotate the drive belt one complete drum rotation with your hand , if drum does not turn freely then i suggest looking further for a missing drum roller or maybe a forign object getting caught down in drum lip seal
Could be 1 of 2 things your washer nds a reset try unplugging the washer leave unplugged for 5 minutes replug start your machine Your drum may be out of line when it starts to wash it jumps off if that's it u will nd to call 4 service
I am having this same issue. I have to unplug and replug back in every wash. Very annoying. Especially because I am short and can't reach the plug without a step stool.
hello you need to change drum rollers but if u remarked water dawn the washer and burn smell it could be the motor OR THE BELT because when the drum stop turning or turn slowly the motor turn fast on the belt when spin time it make this smell .
COULD BE SEVERAL THINGS FROM A MOTOR BOARD TO A LOCK SWITCH, SOMETIMES YOU CAN UNPLUG THE WASHER FOR 1/2 HR THEN REPLUG, THIS MAY RESET THE CONTROL GOOD LUCK
MY WASHER WAS DOING BASICALLY THE SAME THING. I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL FRONT LOADER MODEL #GHW9460PL0. MY HUBBY REMOVED THE 3 SCREWS FROM THE BACK OF THE WASHER, UNPLUG IT FIRST, AND TOOK THE TOP OFF. WE THEN CAREFULLY UNPLUG THE WIRES AND REPLUGGED THEM BACK IN 1 BY 1 SO U WONT GET THEM MIXED UP. WE THEN TRYED IT, AND THE CONTROL LOCKED LITE STAYED LIT. HE HELD THE SIGNAL CYCLE BUTTON IN FOR 3 SECONDS AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. WE THEN TRYED RUNNING A CYCLE AND SO FAR SO GOOD!! GOOD LUCK!
