Samsung american style fridge freezer

The fridge  started to make a noise like a fan catching inside the fridge part, on investigation there is a small fan at the bottom section of the fridge where water drains down to what I think would be the  auto defrost, well this was covered in frost and the fan was catching this.I defrosted it then replaced it and it worked fine for about 2 weeks but now it has started again. Any Ideas. Steve.

My freezer N308 F&P makes a little noise but motor not going. It is slowly starting to defrost and water coming out...I turned it off and on but same.

The compressor could be gone, the niose you hear will be the internal fan unit running , this circulates the cold air arount the inside of the unit. If this unit has a timer, it will be a located in the compressor housing well in the lower rear of the , it will be separate from the compressor and will have 5 wires plugged into it, on that unit, locate a small round knob and turn it clockwise, it should start, if it does, replace the timer, if not, check the thermostat. This may need a tech to do safely as you are working with a live curcuit.
Hope that helps but without being there it quite hard to explain.

Dont forget to vote and goodluck, need more help contact me [email protected] and if you are in Perth Australia, I can have a look at it.

Whirlpool 20RB D4 Fridge Freezer clicking

Hi the reason for your noise coming from the fridge freezer is the plastic that is used in the design of your product is of a low quailty which reacts to the temp change and then as they get cold again they start to crack inside the frigde! Nothing to worrry about........
Hope this helps.....

Water Dripping Inside

Sounds like a blocked defrost drain. By "American" I presume you mean side-by-side.
I had a similar problem with a freezer-on-top style Samsung. The solution to that was to defrost the freezer, remove the false backing plate in the freezer (required removal of the ice cube tray. the panel just pops out with a bit of pulling). The drain hole beneath the freezer coils was blocked with ice. This drain passes down into the fridge and then out the back of the fridge into the evaporation pan next to the motor. There is a collector pan under the freezer coils, this and the drain hole were filled with ice. When the freezer goes into its self-defrost cycle the water collects here and then overflows into the fridge.
I removed the ice with hot water/vinegar mixture (so it doesn't re-freeze immediately) and simultaneosuly used a bit of chiselling with a screwdriver to clear the drain plug. I did this from inside the fridge working up the drain hole into the freezer. The whole job took about an hour.
